Dysport® is an FDA-approved, safe, and effective injectable neurotoxin made from botulinum toxin that is indicated to temporarily decreases wrinkles, frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines. Dysport® was approved for cosmetic use in 2009. As you continually raise your eyebrows, squint, and frown, you leave behind lines and wrinkles. Dysport® temporarily freezes these muscles, and injections decrease the appearance of wrinkles and facial lines. Your skin looks rejuvenated, plumper, and smoother– never unnatural or unmoving. Although Dysport® is quite similar to Botox, and both injectables block nerve signals to the muscles, they are manufactured differently. Just like with Botox, you will need maintenance injections every 3-4 months to maintain Dysport’s effects. The results from Dysport® are usually seen after several days when your muscles have become fully relaxed. Studies have shown that 25 units of Dysport® have the same results as ten units of Botox®.
